2023 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான வரையறுக்கப்பட்ட துறை சார்ந்த போட்டித் தேர்வு, யூனியன் பப்ளிக் சர்வீஸ் கமிஷனால் 2023 டிசம்பர் 9 – 10 தேதிகளில் நடத்தப்பட உள்ளது. இந்த தேர்வானது Section Officers’ Grade of the Central Secretariat Service, Sections Officer Grade of the General Cadre of the Indian Foreign Service, Branch ‘B, Section Officers’ Grade of the Railway Board Secretariat Service, Section Officers’ Grade of the Intelligence Bureau, Section Officers in Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Service மற்றும் Assistant Director/Section Officers/Manager Gr.I in Employees’ State Insurance Corporation ஆகிய சேவைகளுக்காக இந்த ஆண்டு நடத்தப்பட உள்ளது.

UPSC:
UPSC is a Constitutional Body under Article 315-323 Part XIV Chapter II of the Constitution of India to discharge their duties, functions and obligations assigned under Article 320. The UPSC conducts various examinations in accordance with the Rules of examination as notified by the Government of India in a just, fair and impartial manner for making a merit based selection and recommendation of candidates for various Group A and Group B Services of the Govt. of India.
Compulsory subjects For UPSC Mains include Indian and World History; Indian and World Geography, with special reference to places in the news; economics, along with budget and survey; Social Justice and Indian Polity.
Arts Stream subjects can be considered the best graduation course for UPSC IAS Preparation after the 12th. Students can prefer choosing history, geography, Political Science, or Economics as their graduation subject after 12th, as these subjects form the base of the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
So, if you wish to pursue Civil services as your career aim, Humanities (Arts) is definitely going to provide you with the extra edge to do so. It covers the widest range of subjects which could be taken up for higher studies and also provide a strong base for CSE.
The main exam has 1750 marks while the interview has 275 marks. The written examination (main) will consist of the following nine papers, but only 7 papers will be counted for the final merit ranking. For the rest two papers, the candidate should secure the minimum marks prescribed by UPSC each year.
The Essay Paper is one of the nine papers in the UPSC civil services mains exam. In this paper, you will have to write two essays, each with a word count of 1000–1200. One topic can be selected from a choice of four topics. The Essay Paper is for a total of 250 marks, with one essay for 125 marks.
